Yoga – an Effective Tool to Lift Your Mood

Some times we either feel depressed or anxious about the things which we are not responsible nor we are involved. The effect of one negative thing in our life seems to be carried for so many days and at so many situations. Nothing can change us even our favorite music or our beloved person. Every thing seems to be irritating and we feel like crying and strangely we cant even cry wholly. These are all the effects and impacts of negative happenings in our lives. It is very important to come out of these moods the moment we think like going in to them.

Of all the practices which are used to manage mood swings yogic exercises and breathing techniques are found to be effective in lifting up the mood. As the impact of these techniques is much on the brain and not on the body they tend to relieve brain from other tensions and pressures and hence yoga seems to be the best way to cope up with mood swings and behavioral changes.

A research also showed that yoga triggers the release of brain chemical called gamma aminobutyric acid, which helps to regulate the nerve activity. The release of this acid is reduced in the people who are feeling depressed and anxious. The doctors generally tend to prescribe drugs which increases the production of this acid and hence it improves the mood and decreases the anxiety. This research showed an increase in the acid levels after a session of yoga postures which were associated with lifting up the mood. Hence yoga is found to be an effective tool in lifting up the moods and to decrease the anxiety and depression.
