Taking Care of Your Car Fluids

The fluids in the car maintenance are essential. It is an easy task to maintain and makes fun too. Proper fluid maintenance extends your car's life by years. Need to be check periodically and replace or fill the concern fluids into those parts. If you are planning for a long trip, must have to check the fuel conditions.
  • Engine oil: Engine oil helps to maintain the condition of the engine. Proper maintenance of engine oil will give more life. If the engine oil is low automatically the engine will freeze up within the minutes. You can find oil marks or any cap with related symbol at the front of the engine.
Check the oil level in that tank. If the oil level is below the minimum level indicator, you must have to fill the oil. If it is between the minimum level and maximum level, the oil is sufficient. When the oil become dirty or too thick and black change the oil.
  • Transmission fluids: There are two types of transmission systems. Each system has different procedure to check the fluid level. Transmission system generally covered with seal. To know the exact procedure to check your transmission fluid, go through the owners manual. Now we will see how to check the fluid in transmission system.
    • Automatic transmission: Automatic transmission fuel does not need any fuel maintenance. Some automatic transmission fluids have to be checked when the engine is running. Generally the transmission fluid located at the back of the engine. If you find any difficulties to locate, check your owners manual. Check with the transmission dipstick to know the oil level. If the oil level is low, there might a leakage so check for it. Especially you need to check for the oil color. If it is too black, plan for change the fluid.
    • Manual transmission: The manual transmission fluid check is to be done when the engine is off. In most cars, manual transmission fluid have to be checked under the car. Remove the fill plug under the car. Check for the fluid with your finger. If you find any fuel it is sufficient. As well you need to check the color of the fuel. If it is too dark or black need to change the fluid.
  • Brakes: The brake system is also a sealed network like transmission system. To check the brake fluid, locate the brake fluid reservoir in the engine compartment and remove the lid. The fluid should be at least three fourth. If the brake fluid is less than that fill it. If the brake fluid is repeatedly get low, check with a mechanic. Do not allow the water into the brake fluid at all or don't do it in the rain.
  • Battery: Today, batteries are coming with no maintenance needed. These are sealed completely. But still many cars have traditional batteries that need maintenance. Fill the battery cells with distilled water. While filling take safety measures like wearing gloves, eye and skin protections, because the batteries contain sulfuric acid.

How To Sell An Old Car

Selling an old car is a big deal to an owner. There is a fear about low return value and other major losses. But it could be simple with the following simple steps:

Step – 1
In starting phase of selling, first see how much others are asking for the car. This can be done with the help of many Internet websites.

Step – 2
Once searching process is completed, check out the car value. Price of car is adjusted for mileage, color, region, option, and condition.

Step – 3
In third step of car selling process create a ‘For Sale’ sign and ads. This can be done via many modes like on-line classified ads, daily newspaper etc. When ad has to be get published in newspaper, never forget to mention some abbreviations and phrases like ‘Must Sell’, OBO (On Best Offer) etc. this shows the eagerness to sell the car.

Step – 4
In further process pursue following action to increase the car value:
  • Wash it and wax it properly
  • Make it free from any mechanical sound, dents and ding
  • Consider only low cost repair
  • Make a servicing and oil change
  • Made a checkup by mechanic

Step – 6
This is the time to show the car to buyer. Keep a note that when a buyer comes to buy car he/she also checks the seller’s attitude to get the idea about car. Give them comfortable environment. If buyers want to make a test drive, ride along with him to clear any doubt if a buyer feels.

Step – 7
After the approval of car from buyer, now is the time for price negotiation. Be careful with negotiation technique.

Step – 8
In final phase of car selling, check all rules and regulations of DMV (department of motor vehicle) of concerning state. Once money is available from the sale then checks and records the odometer reading and sign the car's title over to the buyer.

Peugeot Citroen Automaker Recalled More Than 90,000 Cars

Peugeot Citroen is the Europe's second largest automaker. Peugeot Citroen recalled more than 90,000 cars due to a gas-pedal flaw. The gas-pedal flaw in cars was causing vehicles to speed uncontrollably. The recall effects the Peugeot sells in Europe. The Peugeot 107 and Citroen C1 models are jointly manufactured by Toyota and Peugeot Citroen at Czech Republic.

The gas-pedal defects in cars cause crashes. The acceleration-pedal defects in Toyota cars caused 19 death in the past decade. The pedal parts of the car were supplied to the U.S and Europe by CTS Corporation. The Peugeot 107 and Citroen C1 models were made from 2005 to mid 2009.

Toyota revealed that a recall of 2.3 million US-built vehicles on Jan 21 due to accelerator-pedal defect and some cars would be recalled in Europe and China. Toyota announced that the customers will get repair details and the car parts will be replaced or new assemblies will be installed.
