Smoking is a dangerous habit. Generally cigarettes or more specially tobacco smoke are filled with different chemicals and toxins, which are harmful to human beings. There are many negative or harmful affects of smoking, such as:

Many people are killed by effects of cigarettes smoking. Life span of the individuals who smokes is reduced. It can cause different types of cancers for individuals.


Heart beat, blood pressure of the smoker is increased by smoking combination of nicotine and carbon monoxide. It damages the heart and blood vessels in the body. Heart attacks and strokes can be caused by smoking.


Blood flow is reduced and oxygen to the feet and hands is slowed down by smoking.


There are many harmful effects which are faced by smokers because of smoking. The nicotine and cotinine are the chemicals which are entered into the body by smoking. You can test the level of nicotine by using nicotine test and level of cotinine by conducting the cotinine test.

Tips To Make Teens To Stay Smoke Free

Before making your teen to stop smoking, understand the reasons behind teen smoking. Although teen smoking is done or started as the recreational activity it becomes habituated and becomes a lifelong activity. For making your teen free from smoking these are the tips which are to be followed.

Attraction: To get fit or join with some particular group of friends teens start smoking. There are many misconceptions which make the teen to smoke like losing weight, and they even they think that they may feel cool and independent. As parents, ask your teen about the reasons for smoking praise the reasons for good choices and talk about the consequences of the bad choices. Talk to them about how the tobacco companies and actors are influencing to smoke in movies for creating a cool impression.

Strictly tell them not to smoke: If the teen doesn’t hear, strictly inform him/her not to smoke. Sometimes, the firmest decisions may impact your teen not to smoke when compared to the teens whose parents doesn’t create any limits.

Be a role model for your teen: If the parent is smoking then the teens obviously get influenced by them. So, parents should first stop smoking. Explain the health problems which are associated with smoking. And even talk about how difficult it is to stop if they get habituated.

Discuss the disadvantages: Say that, smoking is dangerous instead of feeling it as the glamorous one and tell them that it gives a dirty smell and gives you bad breath and because of influence of tobacco the teeth will become yellow and results in a long time cough. Tell them that it causes respiratory problems and even causes cancer.

Calculate the expenses: Inform the teen about the expenses. Calculate and inform the expenses on weekly, monthly, yearly basis and compare the cost with the other essentials which are needed for him.

Quitting is difficult: Clearly tell them that quitting is very difficult and ask them not to smoke even under extreme pressure from others.

It is the parents responsibility to up bring the kid in a good path. Don't hesitate to talk to them about smoking. This will surely make them deter smoking.
