Types of Bed Sheets

Bed sheets are as important as your bed because they provide luxury, warmth, softness and durability. If the quality of the bed sheet is high, you will have a good night sleep. There are many types of bed sheets available in the market which are used in home decorating. Below are some of the common bed sheet types that are available in most stores.

1)Cotton sheets.
2)Polyester sheets.
3)Silk sheet.
4)Flannel sheets.

Most people like cotton bed sheets because they are easy to maintain. These sheets are made from natural cotton and are absolutely smooth, softer, breathable and comfortable. The quality of cotton is measured in terms of thread counts. Egyptian cotton bed sheet is considered a king of all the cotton because it has the highest thread count ranges from 400 to 1500 per inch of the fabric. The second highest cotton is the Supima cotton which is also a good quality cotton. If you want to purchase the quality cotton bed sheets, make sure that the thread count on the label should be above 400 or 500.

Polyester bed sheets are made from polyester and do not give as much comfort and softness as cotton sheets do. It is very easy to maintain.

Silk bed sheets are the most luxurious bed sheets among the various types. It is extremely soft and smooth and at the same time it provides you both warmth and coolness. These sheets can be used regardless of weather and is best for allergenic people.

Flannel sheets are generally useful during the winter season. These sheets are soft, cozy, and give you warmth in the cold climate. The quality of these sheets is measured in terms of the weight(ounces) per square yard and not thread count. The higher the weight, higher is the quality. These are available in both cotton as well as wool. Quality flannel sheets should be no less than four oz. per square yard.
