What is External Recruitment

External recruitment is recruiting people from outside the business or organization. The selecting candidates may be workers from another firm or organization, freshers who have never worked before, or people who are unemployed. Most businesses hire for job by external recruitment objectively and frequently. These businesses are growing firms and progress in industries with high staff turnover.

Methods of external recruitment for a job may be personal recommendation, job centers, private employment agencies, executive employment agencies, careers advisers or by advertisements. Procedure for external recruitment is publishing advertisement through which readers or candidates come to know about socio-economic group, sex, age, etc that are required for job, so that only eligible candidates can apply. Then application form has to be designed which should be sent to people who will apply for the post. Mostly personnel departments design a standard application form that is suitable for all vacancies.

After receiving all the completed application forms, members of the personnel department examine them to find the most suitable candidates and shortlist candidates for interview. After this, interview is conducted which is usually the main feature of the job selection process. This is the slowest means of recruitment.
