Cowboys are not what we see on movies. I am sure it is movies that made them so popular. But in fact, cowboys are a group of cattle rearing guys. They don’t fight with their fellow cowboys for weird reasons like most movies show.
They used to have silly guns to scare wild animals away from their cattle. So, they are not as harmful to kill a person as in movies.
